We invest heavily to deliver the best products to our customers, and so we’re on the hunt for a top-tier Service Delivery Specialist to join our Service Operations team.  

At Kepler, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team of satellite, ground station, software and solutions specialists to offer our customers technical expertise for the portfolio of Kepler services. 
Day-to-day, you will interface with the service team and other engineering disciplines to deliver high reliability satellite communications services, identify key solutions for our customers and automate asset operations. You’ll resolve technical issues and implement solutions to improve service quality. Here is a little more detail on the things we expect you to do: 

Requirements:

    • Operational Service 
    • Perform nominal operations to keep spacecraft, ground stations and network elements healthy, facilitating high reliability service delivery 
    • Monitor service performance, address anomalies and implement improvements.  
    • Address satellite and ground station anomalies to ensure rapid return to service 
    • Monitor asset scheduling and address issues / outliers 
    • Perform trending and performance analysis of the spacecraft and ground stations 
    • Lead debug efforts on released product features and find tailored solutions for our customers.  
    • Identify trends and common needs from customers and work with product team to turn them into service features 
    • Update and develop tools that automate scheduling, commanding and monitoring, increasing efficiency and reliability 
    • Rotating on-call operations support to respond to service alerts and investigate anomalous conditions across all levels of all service offerings 

    •  Development Stages
    • Support creation of concept of operations and requirements definitions for service offerings 
    • Support spacecraft launch and commissioning preparations 
    • Create and validate operating procedures for all mission phases 
    • Participate in the definition, design, testing and deployment of ground segment software tools, with a particular focus on automation and scalability 
    • Support development of ground station needs and deployment 
    • Development of operating procedures for monitoring and maintenance of ground segment elements 

Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or relevant experience 
    • Experience in the operation or deployment of gateway antennas and/or satellite ground segment facilities 
    • Basic knowledge of LEO and sun-synchronous orbits and what they mean for pass geometries, revisit times, etc. 
    • Knowledge of spacecraft command and control systems 
    • Working knowledge of Python
    • Experience using relational databases 
    • Comfortable working in a Linux environment
    • Ability to work independently and under pressure, to effectively communicate and support customers 
    • Demonstrated strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities 
    • Demonstrated solution-oriented attitude
    • Customer facing experience 
    • Aptitude for operating for systems that have many elements and constraints  

Bonus Points:

    • 5+ years of related experience
    • Knowledge of RF communications
    • Knowledge of spacecraft mission analysis and design 
    • Background knowledge of spacecraft attitude/orbit determination and control systems 
    • Experience in defining/implementing FDIR and automation 
    • Experience in specification of system operational concepts and constraints
