We are seeking a Technical Operations Engineer to join our team. Successful applicants will have a strong sense of ownership of their services, be able to prioritize, approach each problem with enthusiasm, and thrive on the value their work delivers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Within the broader infrastructure team own the service delivery pipeline - from configuration of the build and release system through to cloud deployments of services, packages, and models
- Work with the software development and data teams to create automated processes for the reliable and secure packaging, testing, and delivery of models, services and software
- Develop metrics for service and software reliability
- Contribute to developing metrics-based service level agreements (SLAs) and service level objectives for owned services
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Strong familiarity with the AWS product catalog and deep knowledge on configuring the most common services
- 4+ years experience in configuration management / cloud orchestration (ansible and terraform preferred)
- 3+ years experience running CI/CD systems, building deployment workflows, and using associated tooling
- Working knowledge of docker build processes and layer/size optimization techniques (2+ years of experience working with docker in a build context)
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience with kubernetes, and CD tools within the kubernetes ecosystem such as Argo / Flux
- Security experience in the software / service context - experience using and/or configuring secret management tools, auditing / scanning tools, and doing things like basic web-application firewall configuration changes.
