Purpose of the Role
The Product Owner manages the team backlog and works closely with the Agile development team to deliver customer-focused solutions. This role ensures alignment with program-level priorities and the Product Manager’s strategic vision.
Responsibilities
Sitting within the Demand Domain, the Product Owner will be responsible for managing and driving forward a critical domain service which enables and underpins all consumer facing products across our global market representation. This person will also have a pivotal role as we deploy our transformational Fusion: Automotive Retail Platform into these markets.
The person will:
- Own and prioritize the development team backlog to ensure high-value delivery
- Write, refine, and prioritize epics and user stories with clear acceptance criteria
- Collaborate with the development team during Iteration planning, stand-ups, and reviews to clarify requirements and address questions.
- Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring deliverables meet their needs and expectations
- Accept completed user stories, ensuring they meet the Definition of Done
- Collaborate with the Product Management and Program Management teams to align team backlog with program-level goals.
- Monitor and analyse product performance metrics, providing feedback for improvement.
- Translate product strategy into actionable concepts and detailed requirements, scoping activities based on customer demand and business needs.
- Leverage product expertise to communicate effectively across stakeholders.
- Forge close relationships with engineering squads based internationally which this role supports.
Must Have Skills:
- Solid understanding of Agile principles and the Product Owner role within Scaled Agile
- Proven ability to write clear and concise epics and user stories
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams
- Ability to analyse data and make data-driven decisions
- Familiarity with product planning processes and customer-centric development approaches
- Fluent in English
Preferred:
- Experience in a Scaled Agile environment (e.g., Scrum@Scale, SAFe)
- Familiarity with product tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar
- Familiarity with vehicle finance and enabling API services
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CSPO, SAFe POPM)
