Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Windows Engineer to join our 24/7 Operations
Center, operating from the office. This role involves providing L1 and L2 support,
ensuring the health, availability, and performance of our Windows server environments.
The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in incident management, automation, and
monitoring tools, with the ability to react swiftly to alerts and resolve issues effectively
Roles and Responsibilities
- Respond to and resolve support incidents, automated alerts, and product issues generated by monitoring tools.
- Troubleshoot issues within the Windows technology stack using technical and analytical skills.
- Manage and maintain automation tools, providing feedback for process improvements.
- Provide empathetic and customer-focused responses to internal and external stakeholders, acknowledging operational pressures.
- Ensure timely and effective communication of incidents to business units, leadership, and customers.
- Maintain and contribute to documentation, such as knowledge base articles, runbooks, and resolution steps.
- Log incidents, ensuring all necessary fields are completed, and close cases in line with SLAs/OLAs.
- Take ownership of technical issues and escalate them to higher support levels when needed.
- Contribute to KB articles and identify issues in runbooks to enhance resolution processes.
Skills / Knowledge & Experience
- Essential
- Experience in managing and supporting Windows Server environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 core products.
- Experience with Virtualization technologies like Hyper-V and VMware.
- Knowledge of Backup technologies such as Rubrik or NetBackup.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a strong team player attitude.
- Ability to prioritize workload and understand the importance of flexibility and customer service.
- Capability to troubleshoot and solve basic problems independently and escalate more complex issues as required.
- Ability to work unsupervised when necessary, including on-call support outside of standard hours.
- Basic understanding of Data Center facilities, AWS, and core infrastructure
Desirable
- Experience with Cloud Technologies (AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with system monitoring tools that support proactive interventions to prevent service impact.
- Understanding of ITIL or other service management frameworks.
- Previous experience working in a 24/7 Infrastructure Operations environment
Additional Information
- This position is work from office, requiring presence during all shifts, including nights and weekends as part of the 24/7 Operations Center and office cab transport is provided for all shifts.
