An animated series for kids 5-8 that fuses science, magic, adventure and Indigenous cultural knowledge that is currently in development. Concept Artist(s) will be responsible for creating the character and world style, mood, and design for a market-ready pitch package, including 5x main characters, 1x key vehicle, and 3x world or background concepts.
This is an expression of interest posting intended to create and maintain an inventory of candidates for future projects.
Responsibilities
- Character, background, and/or vehicle design from B&W concept to full colour.
- Collaborate with Creator and Art Director on expected style for characters and backgrounds.
- Review written materials for details about characters to be designed.
- Compile moodboards and references as needed.
- Collaborate with other designers when needed.
- Complete all rough, revised and final designs necessary within assigned deadlines.
- Resolve design problems with the team.
- Ensure all deadlines are met.
- Communicate progress and possible delays to production staff.
- Communicate progress of work to appropriate production staff.
- Ensure all artwork is properly backed up and saved appropriately.
Requirements/Skills
- An ability to produce digital art.
- Communication via Slack, email and or video calls with Creator and Producer.
- The role is open to all levels of skills and experience.
- This role is remote but based in BC.
