Job Summary

We have an immediate opening for a Scientist position in our biology team.  The successful candidate will have an integral role in the planning and conduct of experiments that support Kimia’s drug discovery efforts including, but not limited to the below responsibilities.

Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, and execute a broad range of cell based functional and phenotypic in vitro assays to investigate the potential of small molecule therapeutics generated from our high-throughput drug discovery platform.
    • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across biology, chemistry, and computational sciences to advance promising therapeutic candidates.
    • Maintain clear and up-to-date experimental records and prepare study reports
    • Train and /or supervise Research Associates, interns, and other laboratory personnel
    • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

    • Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a closely related field and 0-3 years of relevant postdoctoral or industry experience, or Master degree with minimal 10 years of industry experience.
    • Deep understanding of immune system function, inflammatory mechanisms, immunological disease pathogenesis, and strong understanding on oncogenic pathways.
    • Proficiency in molecular, cellular biology, and immunology techniques, including CRISPR/base-editing tool design, primary cell culture, flow cytometry, qPCR, Western blotting, etc.
    • Experience with in vivo models of inflammation and immunological diseases is highly desirable.
    • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and data analysis skills.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively within teams and present complex concepts clearly.
$115,500 - $148,500 a year

The anticipated salary range for this position is $115,500 to $148,500. The final salary will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.
