Kin Insurance exists to change home insurance from what it is to what it should be. Currently four years old, Kin began with the notion that technology could improve our industry, so we started by researching the most important part of our business: the customer. After building our platform from the ground up, we launched our own insurance carrier in Florida. By applying our vision for a data-driven, technology-forward insurance company, we are able to offer customers affordable insurance in a straightforward, simplified approach. In 2020, Kin is continuing to grow in Florida while expanding into other states.

So, what’s the role?

Kin’s St Petersburg office is growing! We are expanding our sales team to Florida and we’re looking for a talented sales manager to build and lead this new team. 
Our Sales/Operations manager is responsible for hiring and coaching our front line sales staff to hit and exceed sales targets. After our sales reps go through our custom sales and licensing training, you’ll work closely with your team to coach and mentor individuals to achieve their sales targets. As we change the way our customers purchase insurance and interact with their agents, we value your opinion and expertise on areas of improvement.  
The Operations Manager is responsible for assessing and managing the strengths and weaknesses of the sales team through keen coaching to guide them towards meeting and exceeding the company’s sales targets and goals.

A day in the life could include:

Strategy and Implementation:

    • Establishing smart sales objectives to forecast and develop monthly, weekly, and daily sales quotas by leveraging a well studied understanding of our target customers and how they relate to our products 
    • Meeting target performance plan and objective standards for sales representatives based on Kin’s monthly and annual goals and providing accurate data reporting of sales goals and tracking
    • Developing and implementing new sales initiatives, strategies, and programs

Holistic people management:

    • Supporting underperforming agents through insightful coaching resulting in improved performance metrics
    • Thoughtfully motivating and engaging with the sales team with effective monetary and non-monetary (intrinsic) motivational tactics (e.g. contests, prizes, and public recognition)
    • Assisting in recruitment, onboarding, and sales training

I’ve got the skills...but do I have the necessary ones?

    • You have demonstrated a strong and thoughtful ability to lead and mentor others resulting in consistent proven success in meeting and exceeding sales goals and performance metrics
    • You thrive in a fast paced, changing environment by maintaining a genuine positive and collaborative attitude
    • 3+ years experience selling in a goal driven sales environment
    • 2+ years leading a sales team, with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding goals
    • Contact center experience not required but a plus
    • Experience working with sales and contact center software, such as phone systems and reporting tools. Capability to use these tools to maximize efficiency.
    • Currently holds a Property and Casualty insurance license or has the ability to obtain one within the first 4 weeks of joining Kin. Kin will provide training and cover expenses. 
    • As our contact center is open Monday through Saturday, you are required to work a Saturday shift every 6 weeks
