The Mission

KIPP LA Public Schools is a non-profit organization that operates free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public charter schools serving students in South, Southeast, and East Los Angeles. KIPP LA’s mission is to teach the academic skills, foster the intellectual habits, and cultivate the character traits needed for our students to thrive in school, college, and life. Through the success of our students, KIPP LA's team and family will serve as a model of excellence and collaborate with others to raise the quality of education in Los Angeles.

KIPP LA currently operates 17 schools and serves approximately 7,200 students. Our team is expanding rapidly; over the next five years, we will more than double the number of students we serve.

The Opportunity

    • The Talent Acquisition Associate will play an integral part in proactively sourcing, cultivating, tracking, screening and ensuring a high quality experience for all candidates in the KIPP LA teacher pipeline
    • The position will be primarily responsible for coordinating full-cycle recruitment efforts for instructional and non-instructional recruitment efforts

The Responsibilities

    • Effectively source candidates to provide a robust pipeline of talent for instructional and non-instructional openings
    • Work collaboratively with School Leaders/Hiring Managers to source, cultivate, and hire top talent
    • Use data to find creative solutions to source, recruit, and hire top talent for schools KIPP LA
    • Consistently offer superior support and service to both School Leaders/Hiring Managers and candidates
    • Track, record, and manage critical recruitment information within established KIPP LA systems
    • Solve problems and produce results by collecting and analyzing data, identifying alternatives when circumstances change and seeking out additional responsibilities to source talent
    • Support KIPP LA Schools’ diversity recruitment initiatives through professional development and community events
    • Develop and build relationships with prospective talent pools to ensure KIPP LA’s talent pipelines are rich, diverse, and yields lasting results; serve as compelling ambassador of KIPP LA Schools in a variety of settings, from 1:1 conversations with teachers to career fairs and on-campus interview events
    • Spearhead opportunities for prospective teachers to become familiar with KIPP LA Schools’ mission, values, growth plans, and schools
    • Manage the progress of prospective candidates through the recruitment process, including ensuring timely communications, managing cultivation and selection data in database system, and using data to drive change in efforts
    • Conduct initial screens with prospective candidates in a friendly, efficient, and rigorous manner.
    • Propose and manage new recruiting initiatives as appropriate
    • Promote our talent brand through Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Snapchat, and email marketing to better source candidates
    • Develop strong relationships with candidates, understanding their needs and helping them find a fit at KIPP LA during the sourcing process and beyond
    • Coordinate logistics for events, travel, job postings, and interview experiences
    • Create organized systems with laser focus on details to improve sourcing

The Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree is required
    • Recruitment experience in education or corporate space
    • Experience working with candidates throughout a full-cycle selection process
    • Proven organizational skills with attention to detail
    • The ability to prioritize and succeed in a fast paced environment
    • Exposure to HR processes, such as interviewing and evaluation
    • A track record of strong work ethic, integrity, and personal accountability
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
