You Should Apply If

You have previous experience as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant providing support to children in grades K-8 in a school environment. You are an excellent communicator who enjoys working with teachers, administration and other school staff. You are passionate about providing occupational therapy services to students in order to support their ability to access their educational program.


What You'll Do

    • Reviews caseload and develops a service delivery schedule that aligns to student’s IEP’s
    • Assist OTR/L to develop session plans that align to student’s OT IEP goals, implements plans and documents accordingly
    • Delivers direct OT services to students both in and out of the classroom setting according to student’s IEP
    • Assists with development of therapy services, such as adapting school and classroom environment and learning materials to improve student functioning and facilitates access to curricular and instructional activities under the supervision and collaboration of the OTR/L
    • Monitors student progress towards IEP goals/objectives and communicates with OTR/L and school staff as applicable
    • Prepares and presents information regarding goal acquisition, present levels of performance, goals and recommended services for student’s IEP meetings under the supervision and collaboration of the OTR/L and ensures that all stakeholders understand the scope of support the OT will provide
    • Collaborates with teacher and other related service providers for the purposes of consistency and reinforcement of effective techniques and strategies
    • Provides consultation to staff and parents regarding addressing student needs, OT techniques and resources under the supervision and collaboration of the OTR/L
    • Requires travel to various school sites

You'll Be Qualified If You Have

    • Associate’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) or the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (AOTE) certified school
    • Valid California Board of Occupational Therapy License
    • Ability to travel to multiple school sites
