Bluesight is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the engineering teams that build our portfolio of hospital pharmacy software products. We help Hospitals manage drug inventory, flag drug diversion as well as realize substantial savings in drug costs. We’re looking for someone who can continue to mature, scale organically, and integrate acquisitions. This is a people and engineering-management position that will have technical impact on our product portfolio and growth. 

You can expect to:

    • Lead three two-pizza teams of product engineers building multi-tenant, SaaS for our Hospital customers. 
    • Improve communication and collaboration, including reuse and ownership, across teams and stakeholders. 
    • Improve our processes including planning, use of design ADRs, documentation and quality.
    • Ensure productive and collaborative communications within, and across, your teams and stakeholders. 
    • Own design and implementation of roadmap capabilities by working with internal, data, platform teams as necessary. 
    • Work in partnership with Product to ensure technical health, work through challenges, ensure products ship as expected, and manage risks. 
    • Participate in technical and code reviews across your teams.

About You:

    • Decade+ experience building Enterprise SaaS products
    • Experience leading high performing, remote-first product teams of approx 15+ via engineering managers. Experience leading platform or enabling-service teams. 
    • Proven track record of building sustainable engineering organizations with effective mentoring and team performance management
    • Experience building cross functional teams and high-trust relationships with product peers
    • Experience managing cloud costs at either a team or product level. 
    • Deeply versed with Agile development, as well as shaping and optimizing Engineering Metrics (Delivery, DevEx, Reliability) 
    • History of developing software at enterprise SaaS level
    • Strong communicator who can take risks and drive meaningful change in accordance with our technical strategy
    • Display High EQ with ability to balance relationship-building, advocating, supporting and saying no/not-now. 
    • Well-versed in AWS cloud-first architectures and scaling components
    • Exemplification of our core values (Get Stuff Done, Join Forces, Honor the Customer, Redefine Possible, and Have Fun)

Nice to Have:

    • Experience in AWS services like Kinesis, Stepfunctions, Serverless, Cost Explorer etc.
    • Experience running distributed, event or data-based, products 
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
