About the Role

A leading Premier League club in West London, recognised for its commitment to high performance excellence and its culture of challenging convention to gain a competitive edge, is partnering with Kitman Labs to recruit an Applied Performance Specialist. This is a full-time embedded position, working directly with the club’s Performance Support team to advance world-class player development and care. Operating across the Men’s academy and Women’s programmes, you will support the design and delivery of innovative and impactful performance insight. You will help drive data-informed decision-making within a multi-disciplinary team, transforming complex performance and medical data into simple, illuminating, and actionable insights that guide practice and safeguard player welfare. Key responsibilities

    • Act as a crucial bridge between multi-disciplinary staff and the Kitman Labs Intelligence Platform
    • Provide day-to-day, on-site support for practitioners, ensuring they can leverage the platform’s capabilities to their fullest
    • Translate data into clear, actionable insights that influence practice and decision making
    • Produce high-quality reports and visualisations for diverse performance and medical stakeholders
    • Proactively collaborate with domain experts and Kitman Labs teams to refine and develop best-practice processes
    • Support onboarding of new features and technologies, enabling confident, efficient adoption
    • Deliver education, training, and troubleshooting to staff
    • Promote best-practice data governance, quality, and security
    • Champion a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and innovation across the performance support department

What we are looking for

    • A passion for supporting the performance and development of professional athletes in a culture that thinks and acts differently
    • Outstanding data analysis skills, with a talent for creating clear, relevant, and impactful insights
    • Strong proficiency with SQL for data analysis (database management skills also welcomed)
    • Excellent skills in BI tools such as Power BI
    • Experience working with athlete management systems and performance or medical data
    • Strong problem-solving ability, with a mindset for continuous improvement
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to engage and influence a wide range of practitioners with compelling data-informed narrative
    • A collaborative, adaptable, and resilient approach, with a commitment to team success

Minimum requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., sports science, data science, engineering, performance analysis, or related)
    • 3+ years of experience in elite sport, sport technology, or performance support
    • Demonstrated technical literacy and analytical capability
    • Ability to be on-site at a Premier League club training facility daily as required

Desirable

    • 5+ years of experience working in or with elite sporting organisations
    • Experience managing or migrating data across systems
    • Knowledge of sports injury prevention, performance optimisation, and applied sports science
    • Familiarity with medical record systems and data governance
