While working as a Vehicle Operations Specialist you will support a fast-paced flight testing and training facility. Operations Specialists provide customer service by ground handling our cutting-edge all-electric aircraft, and performing related activities in and around the hangar and flight areas. The Vehicle Operations Specialist ensures our flight operations department is fully supported with serviceable and ready to fly aircraft at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Perform aircraft pre-flight, post-flight and preventative maintenance inspections to a high standard to ensure airworthiness and aircraft safety
    • Communicates with other employees and/or crew using radios in order to provide excellent customer service and safe flight operations
    • Ensure aircraft, hangar facility and associated flight operations spaces are clean and orderly
    • Operate forklift to load/unload aircraft shipping containers and ensure safe arrival of aircraft to hangar facility
    • Understand fundamentals of the aircraft charging system and its associated components to safely and effectively keep aircraft charged and ready for flight
    • Assists with general grounds keeping (picking up paper and trash, general housekeeping, etc.), when needed
    • Other duties as needed to support high tempo operations

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

    • The work environment is an outdoor flight training and test facility in the presence of operating aircraft
    • The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, aircraft level noise and outside inclement weather conditions including high temperatures and dust
    • Employees will work around aircraft and some heavy equipment (ie forklift, man-lift, etc)
    • While performing the duties of a Aircraft ground support technician the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear
    • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50-70 pounds

Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or G.E.D, and some technical training is helpful
    • Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation 
    • Must be authorized to work in the US
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Forklift operator certification or heavy equipment experience
