Job Summary

As a Junior Production & Capacity Planner, you will work closely with Ops managers, Procurement, and Finance to forecast production needs and place finished good purchase orders to our co-manufacturing partners across the country. You will have a proven track record in delivering results in a fast-paced business environment. You will have a strong business acumen, be comfortable interfacing and escalating capacity and production issues with various functional teams and organizational leaders, have a passion for developing and implementing processes in an ambiguous problem space, and be willing to roll up your sleeves to deliver results. Excellent verbal and written and communication skills will be critical to the success of this position.

As Kiva's Junior Production Planner, you will...

    • Translate Sales forecasts and capacity constraints into production forecasts and purchase orders
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand demand needs, capacity limitations, and lead times for co-manufacturers across the country
    • Analyze production metrics and manufacturing trends in order to proactively identify and mitigate risks to the plan and create more accurate, actionable plans that support KIVA’s growth initiatives for the future
    • Track production variances to the production plan, and driving opportunities to continuously improve plan accuracy
    • Identifying current and potential product shortages, escalating and supporting triage initiatives with Operations leaders, and advising interested parties of status and recovery plans. Ensures issues are managed to closure.
    • Proactively communicate capacity and production risks to relevant cross-functional leaders
    • Support Production Schedulers with insights regarding future production needs and watch-outs in an effort to mitigate supply chain risks to finished good demand requirements
    • Provide reports, analysis and requested information to cross-functional stakeholders as needed
    • Collaborate with Procurement to understand material availability constraints that may affect production plans
    • Provide backup support to Production Schedule Planners when needed
    • Interface with various internal and external partners to share plans, identify risks to demand targets, and proactively escalate OTIF trends

What we are looking for...

    • Bachelor’s Degree required
    • 2-3 years experience in fast-moving CPG or manufacturing industry in rapid-growth environments (co-man experience a plus)
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities under time constraints in an efficient and accurate manner
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills, with the ability to proactively effectively engage others to resolve issues
    • Strong process-centric background
    • Adopts analytical thinking to solve issues with accurate data and analysis
    • Proficiency for analysis, modeling, and creative thinking
    • Knowledge of raw materials and production processes that will maximize the effective manufacturing of goods 
$70,000 - $75,000 a year
Salary plus quarterly bonus. Please note, we consider a number of factors such as internal pay parity, relevant experience/skills, geographic location, etc.
