Job Summary

Position exists to support the Sanitation and Manufacturing departments in tasks to increase Food Safety and Personnel Safety to sustain and grow the business at Kiva Brands. This will be accomplished through cleaning and disinfection practices to meet cGMPs, Food Safety and Quality Assurance regulations. 

As a Kiva Sanitation Technician, you'll...

    • Be responsible to maintain adherence to cGMP’s (current Good Manufacturing Practices) 
    • Clean, disinfect, and maintain production, restroom, break room, and office spaces
    • Clean and sanitize all surfaces and equipment in food common areas (break room; restrooms; door handles; light switches, etc.) areas using FSQA approved chemicals.
    • Follow sanitation standard operating procedures & in accordance of Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) designed for facilities in Oakland.
    • Perform duties that include cleaning and disinfecting equipment ex.: faucets; handles on fixtures, sweep, mop, clean walls, wash floor mats & disinfect any drains.
    • Replenish supplies and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as cleaning and disinfecting chemicals, soap & paper towels, and others as required.
    • Inspect premises for unsanitary practices and conditions 
    • Maintain orderly and clean work and storage areas
    • Identify any PPE, tools or equipment required for the job
    • Follow OSHA safety procedures and wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

What we're looking for...

    • Someone who can frequently lift/move equipment, chemical containers weighing 10-50 lbs.
    • Previous experience working in a Food production or distribution environment preferred but not essential.
    • Food safety and sanitation knowledge is a definite bonus.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently. Organized and able to handle multiple tasks. Self-directed, able to work autonomously.
    • Excellent people skills, including listening skills, and can work with all levels of staff. Team-oriented attitude.
    • Strong attention to detail, be meticulous in their work, and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
