Job Summary

The Senior GL Accountant is responsible for overseeing different corporate entities for the #1 cannabis-infused edibles company in the U.S. The Senior GL Accountant will perform daily operations of the accounting department, perform monthly close processes, and ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of all financial data. In addition to daily and monthly responsibilities, the Senior GL Accountant assists in setting and maintaining accounting policies and execution and the creations of new processes to support efficiencies.  This position reports to the Assistant Controller and works closely with AP and a variety of other internal departments.

As the Kiva Senior General Ledger Accountant, you will...

    • Account for full cycle general ledger monthly, quarterly and annual close process and related activities to ensure accounts are properly reconciled and reported in accordance with U.S. GAAP
    • Manage/coordinate regular closing activities such as journal entries, account reconciliations and financial review and analysis. Ensure deadlines are met in accordance with company’s policies and procedures
    • Prepare account level fluctuation analyses
    • Drive process improvement and automation efforts across all areas of Finance
    • Draft and implement key policies and procedures
    • Partner closely with FP&A to support monthly variance analysis, forecasts, and annual plan
    • Prepare a cash flow forecast
    • Collaborate with management and various departments, including sales,marketing, operations and legal to support business projects
    • Assist with the preparation of financial reports provided to management

What we're looking for...

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance is required
    • 5+ years of experience in a high-growth and fast-paced environment
    • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role within an accounting team required
    • Extensive experience in the development and application of policies and procedures
    • Proficiency in account reconciliations and closing procedures required
    • Must display excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across departments and at different levels 
    • Previous experience in manufacturing is strongly preferred but not required

Work Environment

    • Due to the current situation most work will be done remotely. There may be times when in-person training could be needed. We would address that with the Safety team within Human Resources before a meeting would take place.
    • Business work hours Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-5:00 pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required.
