Job Summary

Your role as a Transportation Manager includes, but is not limited to, the responsibility of managing the execution, direction, and coordination of all transportation matters within the organization. This includes managing budgets, organizing schedules and routes, ensuring that vehicles are safe and meet legal requirements, and making sure the drivers are aware of their duties. This person needs to have a can-do attitude and adapt to the ever changing dynamics of the cannabis industry.

As Kiva's Assistant Transportation Manager, you will...

    • Use computer systems to control orders, delivery arrangements and transportation.
    • Evaluate quality and performance of staff using data from computer systems.
    • Maintain account relationships, Act as a liaison between Kiva and our customer base.
    • Manage a team of Drivers  to achieve goal requirements.
    • Work with outside agencies including customers and suppliers.
    • Ensure compliance with legal requirements including health and safety regulations.
    • Keep accurate records using nominated systems.
    • Implement new systems as needed, sometimes abruptly.
    • Manage disciplinary actions & hold accountability within your department.
    • Monitor fleet expenditure to minimize spending.
    • Organize training sessions for employees.
    • Ensure all shipping documents in accordance with regulations are properly issued to drivers before departure.

What we're looking for...

    • 3 years proven work experience as a Transportation manager, shipping manager or similar role.
    • At least 1-2 years experience working with fleet management, fleet analytics overseeing company owned vehicles. 
    • Great leadership, organizational, and communication skills; ability to motivate staff.
    • Extensive knowledge in distribution software, order entry, routing efficiencies.
    • Analytically driven mindset.
    • Ability to generate operational systems from scratch and reevaluate as needed to determine areas of improvement.
    • Proactively plan on implementation of new systems and procedures to minimize disruption of existing daily workflow.
