Klarna was born in Stockholm in 2005 and today has 2000 employees working across Europe and the US. We currently serve 60 million consumers, work together with 90,000 merchants and process more than a million payment transactions a day. Who you are

It goes without saying that to achieve excellent results you have 5+ years of B2B Sales, Account Management, or Business Development experience in either the Retail, E-commerce, and/or Payments industry as well as a relevant academic degree. Experience from a high-growth Tech company will help you to navigate the internal landscape in Klarna but is definitely not a must if you are a born networker and a quick learner. Regardless of your role here in Klarna, you possess a winner mentality and can turn leads into successful deals.
Working proficiency and verbal/written communication skills in German and English are required to work in this region.
What you will do
If you have read up to here, you see that it is not a traditional job description with hard core requirements. We are after finding great talent and want to get to know you better and see what you vision as your next challenge before we go into details.
However, there are a few roles that we have in mind as we are growing our teams. You will become an essential part of our Commercial Competence and will focus on either New Sales, Account Management, or Partner Management, depending on your strengths and previous experience.
As we are expanding our business in other verticals, it also means that we are looking for you with leadership experience who would like to take on a new challenge. You would be responsible for building a strong team, defining the strategy for our Digital business as well as making sure that even more customers out there will be able to experience the Klarna Smooothness.
Our New Sales teams primarily focus on identifying new merchant prospects in the Retail industry doubling down - among others - on leads from the Fashion, Electronics, Home & Living, and Beauty verticals. Following Klarna’s unique Way of Winning sales approach, your ultimate target will be to close new deals with enterprise merchants driving transaction volume and revenues for Klarna’s DACH business.
As part of one of our Merchant Development teams, you will manage Klarna’s key Retail merchants in the DACH region and work with top brands such as Adidas, IKEA, Zara, and Media Markt. Thereby, you will identify upsell potential, optimize existing merchant integrations along the entire customer journey, and run co-marketing activities together with merchants to increase Klarna’s reach.
If you want to join our Partner Management team, you will be building strong relationships with leading e-commerce Platforms, PSPs, System Integrators (SIs), and Design Agencies in the DACH region. You will focus on raising market awareness of Klarna Payment solutions through prominent placements in partner proposals, in their communication channels, and through co-marketing activities.
