Most Scrum Master roles keep you focused on ceremonies. Few give you the opportunity to help shape a brand-new team, embed agile ways of working from the ground up, and influence how product innovation comes to life. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in fast-moving, startup-like environments, loves supporting cross-functional teams, and sees agile as a mindset for delivering impact—not just a process to follow.
Responsibilities
- Establish Agile Practices: Stand up team ceremonies and working agreements that fit a fast-moving, startup-style product environment.
- Facilitate Delivery: Lead sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups—keeping the team aligned, focused, and adaptable.
- Support the Team: Remove blockers, shield the team from distractions, and help maintain sustainable pace and focus
- Guide Growth: Coach the team on agile principles at a practical, team-focused level, ensuring practices evolve as the team mature
- Enable Collaboration: Partner with product managers, engineers, business analysts, and designers to refine priorities and keep delivery tied to outcomes
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of reflection, experimentation, and learning to improve team performance and product delivery.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master (preferably in SaaS or product-focused companies).
- Hands-on experience building agile practices in small, fast-growing, cross-functional teams.
- Strong facilitation and communication skills—able to keep discussions focused, inclusive, and outcome-driven.
- Practical understanding of agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) with the ability to adapt them pragmatically to context.
- Track record of helping teams balance speed and quality in delivery.
- Collaborative mindset, able to work across product, engineering, and business roles.
- Experience working in regulated industries is preferred. Familiarity with healthcare or life sciences are a bonus.
- Hands-on experience with AI-driven tools and a strong interest in exploring emerging technologies.
Why You’ll Love It
- Impact: You’ll help shape how a new product team works from the ground up, directly influencing how we deliver solutions that matter.
- Challenge + Purpose: Work in a startup-style environment inside an established organization—fast-paced, dynamic, and meaningful.
- Growth: Exposure to building agile practices in a new team
- Team: Join a group of product managers, engineers, and analysts who value collaboration, curiosity, and outcomes over process for process’s sake.
If you’re a Scrum Master who asks not only “Are we doing agile right?” but also “How can this team work smarter to deliver real impact?”—you’ll thrive here.
