Title Art Supervisor
Reports to Associate Creative Director or VP, Creative Director

Role Description and Expectations

The Art Supervisor is responsible for generating ideas, creating concepts for design and layout materials from draft stage through to finished product with their copy partner; working closely with Creative and Client Service teams to ensure adherence to client’s marketing strategies and objectives within specified deadlines.  As a people manager the Art Supervisor manages and mentors creatives that report to them and as needed on projects.  In this role, the Art Supervisor must have an advanced understanding of Klick Health departmental procedures such as routing, print production, protocols, usage rights of stock, images for layout, as well as other internal procedures and solutions practiced by our creative craft. 

Key Accountabilities
Solid understanding of client’s marketplace and can evaluate work in light of current marketing environment commercial awareness
Ensures the best visualization of the product while maximizing budget limits and understands the various production processes. (CGI, Shoot, Stock, etc)Contributes innovative ideas appropriate to the client’s marketing strategy that challenge the status quo
Able to defend strengths of existing concepts while remaining open to input and further explorations
Participates and contributes in brainstorming sessions with stakeholders across meetings
Reviews all materials for consistency in layout guidelines and all branding elements
Works with copy partner to skillfully produce work across all channels that communicate the client’s message about the product for both the overall campaign Layouts support copy with innovative visuals using photography, illustration, and unique use of typography to support strategy
Follows-through and communicates with Creative Shared Services to ensure smooth flow of jobs to meet deadlines
Manages and mentors direct reports; coaches, challenges, and provides opportunities for growth
Follows up on set expectations, and provides coaching and guidance when standards are not being met
Develops goals with each direct report and conducts performance reviews and regular 1:1s to provide coaching, support career plans, and provide learning opportunities
Maintains current knowledge of the internal creative team's capabilities & freelance talent; recommends those that are best suited to achieving the desired results
Fosters an environment of diversity and inclusion on the team
Maintains awareness of budget requirements and limits; alerts Client Service in advance when work exceeds budget and obtain appropriate approvals to follow through
Develops strong relationships with all cross discipline internal teams
Has a solid client relationship; actively leads interactions with clients and forges bonds with stakeholders
Keeps up to date on industry trends and shares knowledge with internal teams
Demonstrates a deep understanding of product challenges in relation to overall market
Complete understanding of market trends and marketing briefs

 Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising/Visual Communications, Graphic Design or related discipline preferred

Experience
5+ years of experience in marketing/advertising business experience preferred
