As the Tax Manager, you will report to the Director of Tax, assist in worldwide tax compliance and play a role in the organization’s global expansion. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, strategic acumen, and the ability to prioritize and adapt seamlessly in a dynamic landscape. Klick is a Canadian headquartered company, and this position will be based within the head office in Toronto.

Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the preparation, analysis, and filing of Canadian (Federal & Provincial) corporation and commodity tax returns by preparing detailed working papers and reviewing information provided by others to support information required for the tax returns.
    • Lead the preparation, analysis and filing for U.S. (Federal & State) corporation and sales & use tax returns by preparing detailed working papers and reviewing information provided by others to support information required for the tax returns.
    • Coordinating and reviewing worldwide tax compliance for the EMEA, APAC and LATAM regions.
    • Analysis and reconciliation of selected tax general ledger accounts.
    • Preparing audit ready working paper information required for Canadian, US and other global tax audits.
    • Review Non-resident withholding tax payments and annual returns.
    • Handle inquiries from tax authorities (Canada Revenue Agency/Internal Revenue Service/Other International Tax Authorities) and external auditors.
    • Collaborate proactively with external tax advisors for tax modeling, identifying opportunities to minimize corporate and indirect taxes, and recommending best practices.
    • Prepare month-end tax provisions, calculate installment payments, and manage transfer pricing policies to ensure compliance with guidelines.
    • Improve and streamline tax processes and including the use of technology and automation, as applicable.
    • Provide support for the organization's strategic initiatives

Requirements

    • 2+ years of Tax management experience in Finance, ideally within a technology organization or within a public accounting firm.
    • Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree in Finance or related field; CPA designation in Canada or the United States is required.
    • Completion or near completion of the CPA In-depth Tax Course or Master of Taxation (MTax) program.
    • Solid understanding of advanced financial and income tax accounting.
    • Strong technical background and broad-based tax skills because of prior experience in a professional services firm or Industry
    • Please include any certifications, industry knowledge and experience as well as any technologies that you have worked with.
    • Strong analytical skills, strategic mindset, and ability to pivot in evolving landscapes.
    • Team player engaging with all organizational levels, proficient in Google Suite and TaxPrep.
    • Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable in a flat organizational structure.
