Griffin & Griffin is searching for fun, energetic and positive Event Lighting Crew to join their team based in Westbrook, ME!  Griffin & Griffin is an event lighting, design, and production company, creating custom lighting environments, bespoke décor, on and off-site production, and power distribution.

The Event Lightning Crew members will become part of their diverse team of professional creators, technicians, and specialists. All crew will work closely with the Event Lighting Production Managers from start to finish of each job. Crew members will assist with the assembling, disassembling, and maintenance of lighting installations for all events. Events will include corporate events, private parties and weddings located throughout New England at various venues, locations, public and private properties.

Primary Responsibilities:

    • Load-in, install and load-out lighting equipment, props, décor, and materials for all events including, but not limited to lighting equipment, props, décor, and generators.
    • Perform rigging, focusing, operating, and maintaining of event lighting systems.
    • Involved in the coordination, design and construction of props and lighting elements.
    • Responsible for managing all equipment, tools, materials, and vehicles daily.

Job Qualifications:

    • Experience with production lighting preferred, but not required.
    • Must, be positive, have good oral communication skills, have good interpersonal skills, be a team player, embody a professional appearance and demeanor.
    • Must be able to follow multiple technical design instructions and pay utmost attention to detail.
    • Willingness and desire to grow and learn.
    • Should have general knowledge or experience with rigging.
    • Skill driving various vehicles including cars, trucks, vans, and box trucks.
    • Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately.
    • Contribute to the team, customer, venues, and vendors in a way that promotes success for each job.
    • Have patience, physical agility, stamina, good work ethic, sense of humor, positive outlook, safety conscience, balance, and ability to work comfortably at various heights.
    • The successful candidate must have reliable transportation, have a driver’s license in good standing and be willing to submit to a Driver’s Record check. Driver’s Record must be in good standing.

Working Conditions:

    • Able to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds (over 50 pounds with help).
    • Able to operate/use equipment, machines, and tools requiring hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity.
    • Able to climb stairs, stand, sit or walk, bend, reach for extended periods of time or for an entire work shift.
    • Able to perform tasks in a variety of environments, positions and comfortable with heights.
    • Able and capable to travel throughout New England states and sometimes beyond; weekdays and weekends; overnight (lodging, fuel and meals provided by company if necessary).
    • Able to and at times required to work in all types of weather conditions.
    • Able and capable to work deadline-based hours.
    • Experience with production lighting preferred, but not required.
Griffin & Griffin offers a competitive benefits package including medical, dental and paid time off! Pay to commensurate with experience, $15 to $25 an hour with possibility of over time.
