Epilepsy Foundation of New England (EFNE) has mission driven opportunity for a Programs and Services Specialist dedicated to delivering programs and services to people with epilepsy, their families, and caregivers.
The Programs and Services Specialist plays a vital role serving as a primary point of contact for individuals seeking support, conducting intake assessments, coordinating referrals, and connecting clients to EFNE internal and external resources. The Program Specialist also assists with the planning and implementation of events, educational programs, and support groups.
This position may require occasional evening or weekend hours to support events and programs as well as occasional travel throughout EFNE’s service area (MA, NH, ME, RI).

Requirements of the Programs and Services Specialist
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, public health, education, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 1–3 years of experience in case management, program coordination, or direct service preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, chronic health conditions, or in a nonprofit setting is a plus. Experience and knowledge of seizures and epilepsy desired.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable facilitating groups and speaking publicly.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM/database systems (Salesforce a plus)
- Commitment to EFNE’s mission and values.
- Multilingual skills desired
Responsibilities of the Program and Services Specialist
- Serve as the first point of contact for individuals and families seeking information, resources, or assistance.
- Conduct timely intake assessments, determine needs, and provide referrals to internal programs or external partners.
- Follow up with clients to ensure successful connection to services and support.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records in EFNE’s Salesforce database.
- Support the implementation of EFNE programs including support groups, wellness initiatives, camps, walks, conferences, and community education.
- Facilitate virtual and/or in-person meetings and workshops as assigned.
- Collaborate with internal and external colleagues to identify emerging community needs and recommend program enhancements.
- Build relationships with healthcare providers, social service agencies, and community partners to strengthen EFNE’s referral network.
- Participate in outreach events, conferences, and health fairs to promote EFNE’s programs and services.
- Track program participation and client outcomes.
- Prepare reports and contribute to program evaluations for internal use and funder requirements.
- Assist with special projects, events, and fundraising activities as needed.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and mission-driven team culture.
- Regularly communicate with internal and external partners to best address client needs
