STARC Systems, a globally recognized leader in industrial temporary modular wall systems, is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join their team in Brunswick, Maine
 
In this newly created role, the Quality Control Technician will be able to provide value to our customers by using Lean tools and concepts to identify and eliminate waste in all forms (scrap/rework, transportation, motion, waiting, inventory, over production, over processing, and under-utilization of people). Uses systemic thinking by seeing processes from end to end and works to challenge the status quo to eliminate the root cause of problems. Is involved in individual and/or team activities that involve using Lean tools and concepts to improve the flow of information and material.

Requirements for the Quality Control Technician:

    • High School Diploma/GED required – A.A. Degree in any Science, Computer Science, Math, or Engineering field strongly preferred. 
    • American Society for Quality Certification or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) strongly preferred.  
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a Quality Control/Assurance based position in a regulatory environment such as ISO.  
    • Ability to proficiently use measurement hand tools such as caliper, micrometers, and or protractors. 
    • Knowledge of CMM and or calibration practices and techniques. 
    • Ability to enter data, verify entered data and analytical mathematic skills. 
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools for documentation purposes. 
    • Strong work ethic. 
    • Must be capable of concentration and detail oriented for extended periods. 
    • Willingness and ability to train STARC associates on process improvements or inspection procedures, if required. 
    • When assigned, assist STARC PD Engineering or others within the STARC plant. 
    • Industrial powered truck operator and electric pallet jack preferred. 
    • Ability to pivot and adjust to rapid changes to meet multiple objectives and deadlines. 

Responsibilities of the Quality Control Technician:

    • Ability to quickly and effectively comprehend technical instruction by written and verbal communication. 
    • Demonstrate good judgement and decision-making skills. 
    • Work independently  
    • Identify and implement process improvements to improve inspection practices. 
    • Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information. 
    • Prepares detailed work instructions to improve team efficiencies. 
    • Conduct inspection of incoming materials, in process inventory, and finished products.
