Day One is seeking a Residential Counselor to provide substance use and mental health counseling, including assessment, treatment planning, group counseling, individual counseling, and family counseling at locations in Windham and New Gloucester, Maine.  

Requirements of the Residential Counselor:

    • Master’s degree required to provide mental health and substance use counseling.
    • LCSW, LMSW-CC, LCPC, LCPC-C.
    • Experience working with adolescents, groups, and families to address substance use and mental health needs.
    • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
    • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
    • Knowledge of co-occurring disorders.

Responsibilities of the Residential Counselor:

    • Engage in treatment planning with clients and demonstrate the ability to set treatment goals accordingly.
    • Provide individual, group, family counseling as indicated.
    • Utilize verbal de-escalation skills.
    • Modeling pro-social communication.
    • Supervision, behavior management, and redirection in the moment.
    • Provide referrals to appropriate resources as needed.
    • Collaborate with other treatment providers on care team.
    • Maintain all clinical records in accordance with agency, program, licensing, and clinical standards.
    • Provide client data necessary to fulfill contract and billing requirements.
