R.M. Davis is seeking an experienced Trust Officer to be responsible for the effective oversight of accounts where members of the company serve as Trustee in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.  

Requirements:

    • CTFA certification and 5+ years of relevant work experience in trust and estate administration, with direct client-facing responsibilities. An advanced degree in law, tax, or a related field is preferred, but not required. 
    • Experience in wealth management firm, trust company, law firm, or the trust department of a bank. 
    • Prior trust and estate administration experience, including working closely with securities custodians, outside attorneys, accountants, auditors, regulators, and beneficiaries with regards to trust activities and transactions, trustee decision-making, andmanagement of the entire estate distribution process. 
    • Experience in reviewing and analyzing estate planning documents, fiduciary tax returns and other related legal/tax documents is preferred. 
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills and ability to communicate complex legal and financial concepts clearly to various audiences. 
    • Professional, mature, and collaborative demeanor, with a solution-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities:

    • Provide comprehensive counsel on a variety of trust, estate, and tax matters. 
    • Review, counsel and approval of all trust and trustee activities and transactions. 
    • Work in close conjunction with internal departments relating to all functions and transactions that involve trusts in which R.M. Davis and/or its officers serve as Trustee.  
    • Serve as liaison among various external parties to facilitate transactions.   
    • Oversight of third-party services provided to trusts, beneficiaries, and client families to ensure alignment with fiduciary standards and client objectives. 
    • Oversight and coordination of all tax work for trusts administered by R.M. Davis. 
    • Participation on the Trust Oversight Committee and oversight of the discretionary distribution process. 
    • Represent the firm in client and beneficiary meetings, demonstrating a high level of confidence and subject-matter expertise in the facilitation of all trust and trustee services. 
    • Responsible for reviewing wills, trust agreements, and beneficiary designations of deceased clients to determine estate structure and asset distribution, including processing required paperwork. 
    • Engage with beneficiaries, attorneys, accountants, custodians, and internal departments to ensure a seamless and compliant estate settlement process.
