Maine (remote/hybrid position; however, must live in Maine or be in the process of relocating to Maine)
Maine Connectivity Authority is seeking a Grant Manager, to be based in Maine. This position is responsible for managing, coordinating, or monitoring a portfolio of complex assigned grants and will work on a team to oversee grant management with a focus on reporting and compliance, project coordination and progress and communication.
Requirements of the Grant Manager:
- Proven experience in grant administration, project management, or related field.
- Strong detail orientation and ability to independently and proactively drive/track deliverables to completion
- Knowledge of grant programs and funding, non-profit, governmental, or quasi-governmental agencies.
- Knowledge of federal rules and regulations.
- Advanced level of experience with productivity tools, such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Slack, Asana, and financial management software.
- Experience with professional customer relationship management (CRM) systems like Salesforce preferred.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with diverse constituents- including municipalities, internet service providers, and nonprofits.
- Excellent communication skills in written and verbal contexts.
- Strong project development and management skills.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Occasional daily travel to meetings and project locations.
- Attendance and participation in frequent meetings (internal, external, and blended). *Attendance may be virtual as needed, with in-person meetings to be determined.

Responsibilities of the Grant Manager:
- Ensure that the policies and procedures outlined in MCA’s Grant Administration Manual are upheld and executed.
- Monitor, track, and support assigned awarded projects, ensuring compliance with federal, state and MCA requirements through standard project check-ins, project reporting, and the provision of as-needed technical assistance.
- Support the Grant Contract Execution Process for assigned grants, including coordinating project-specific contract packages with legal counsel, the Finance team, the subgrantee, and other key partners.
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of grant activities, utilizing tools such as Asana, Salesforce, and Google Workspace.
- Process payment requests related to assigned grants in coordination with the finance team and the Director of Grant Administration.
- Participate in periodic, planned project site visits, including visits requested by MCA, the subgrantee, or state and federal funding partners.
- Work closely with and provide cross-functional support to relevant MCA delegated Program Leads to ensure grant programs are designed, implemented, and managed effectively and efficiently.
- Manage vendors affiliated with grants and related programs, including monitoring the vendor’s scope of work, approval of invoicing, and final deliverables, with support from MCA’s Finance Team.
- In partnership with the relevant Program Lead and grants team, develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of, and routinely monitor, funder guidance and expectations related to assigned grants.
- Ensure MCA’s subgrantee monitoring policies, including, but not limited to, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reporting requirements and procedures, are upheld and executed.
- Facilitate the delivery of appropriate technicalassistance to applicants and subgrantees during the application, grant execution, grant performance, evaluation, and reporting periods.
- Assist in developing grant materials reflecting MCA objectives, promoting a positive subgrantee-oriented experience.
