PRCC is seeking a Membership Manager, to be based in Portland, Maine

Requirements of the Membership Manager:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred). 
    • 2+ years of experience in membership development, sales, business development, or a related area. 
    • Will be required to work at chamber events after hours and early mornings  
    • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales or recruitment goals. 
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills. 
    • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management abilities. 
    • Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and digital communication tools.

Responsibilities of the Membership Manager:

    • Develop and execute strategies to attract new members across various industries. 
    • Conduct outreach through cold calls, in-person visits, email campaigns, and networking events. 
    • Present the Chamber’s value proposition to prospective members through one-on-one meetings and presentations. 
    • Create monthly membership goal to ensure we meet budget at year end. 
    • Maintain regular contact with current members to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for deeper involvement. 
    • Develop and implement retention plans, including renewal communications, feedback surveys, and engagement tracking. 
    • Coordinate member onboarding and orientation programs. 
    • Build strong relationships with business owners, community leaders, and stakeholders. 
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for member inquiries, concerns, and support needs. 
    • Encourage member participation in Chamber events, committees, and sponsorship opportunities. 
    • Assist in planning and attending Chamber events, including networking functions and ribbon cuttings.
