The Senior Manager, Public Relations identifies press and communications opportunities that will further elevate the Knix and Kt by Knix brand by driving awareness, sales and retention. This position will oversee Public Relations initiatives to ensure consistent and qualitative coverage of both brands across North America. This requires collaboration with our brand team to establish strong partnerships both on a regional and national scale across Canada & the US.  The ideal candidate is specialized in implementing & developing commercial and strategic relationships with organizations & media in accordance with the company's overarching objective, strategic goals and vision.

The Opportunity

    • Facilitate relationship building across various industries and brands to ensure Knix remains top of mind and a partner of choice across the US and Canada.
    • Develop, execute, and monitor  PR strategies and calendars that drive meaningful storytelling and press opportunities for the Knix and Kt by Knix brands across a wide array of media. 
    • Manage the day to day back and forth with PR agency partners.
    • In tandem with the partnership team ideate on potential partnership opportunities that will drive press and create communications plans against those opportunities. 
    • Execute against the broader team strategy leveraging public relations to deliver against measurable KPIs.
    • Create a systematic, process-driven approach to press outreach and relationship management.
    • Research partners, identify key players and generate interest.
    • Create project briefs and internal pitch decks to share with the broader team to gain alignments and project approvals. 
    • Collaborate with senior management and other marketing teammates to align our internal goals with new and existing press opportunities. 
    • Forecast, measure, and report the results of various projects with partners, including co-created and/or co-branded content promotions, lead sharing, and/or event partnerships.
    • Help regional field marketing team evaluate local opportunities.
    • Oversee the Partnership and Communications teams brand event calendar to ensure synergy across the department planning initiatives while also keeping the regional event planning in mind.
    • Oversee the PR Agency management; briefing, calendars, reporting and schedule of press materials. 
    • Managing the team & performance.

Qualifications

    • At least 7 years of work experience in PR, brand (including partnerships & marketing), communications, etc. with at least 2-3 years of leadership experience managing a team & external partners (i.e.: an agency).
    • Previous experience working in-house is required to support brand growth & awareness strategy; working in industries like lifestyle, beauty, or apparel across the US and Canada is a strong asset.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office and G Suite.
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field.
    • Previous experience negotiating contracts & agreements.
    • Strong time management and logistics experience with the ability to remain proactive, and keeping stakeholders accountable for any deliverables required for launches.
    • Proven history of partnership management and strategic initiative development from end-to-end.
    • Ability to think critically, utilize subject matter expertise, and problem-solve.
    • Highly motivated, self-directed and driven with strong interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to learn quickly and independently at times.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team including cross-functionally and with external partners.
    • Stakeholder management and the ability to build relationships internally & externally.
