As a Market Development Clinician at knownwell you will play a critical role in establishing and expanding our new medical practice(s) within a specific market. This role combines clinical expertise with business acumen to drive marketing efforts, build strong referral networks, and ensure successful practice establishment and growth. This clinician leader serves as both a clinical
leader and a strategic partner, working to position the practice effectively in the medical community and attract patients. As an active member of the clinical practice you will also work alongside a team of committed physicians, APC’s, registered dietitians, registered nurses, registered pharmacist clinicians, and health coaches to provide comprehensive medical care, with a specific focus on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of obesity and obesity related conditions as appropriate in a primary care setting. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of patients by helping them improve their overall health.

Schedule: Monday-Friday with flexible scheduling
EMR: Athena
On-Call: Phone call only, in a rotation with initial triage by nurses.

Requirements:

    • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required from an accredited medical school. 
    • You have an active, unrestricted license to practice in Washington, or willingness to obtain.  Willingness to obtain additional licensures if needed based upon business needs. 
    • Board certification in Family Practice or Internal Medicine (MDs and DOs)
    • NCCPA board certification (PAs) or ANCC or AANP board certification (NPs)
    • Certification with American Board of Obesity Medicine recommended, but not required.
    • Valid DEA required with no restrictions and prescribing authority (per state practice regulation) 
    • BLS certification current 
    • Minimum of two (2) years of in person clinical experience in an ambulatory care setting, family or internal medicine; experience in chronic condition management and weight management preferred.  If no formal training in weight management, willingness to participate in knownwell clinical education and training plan for weight management and/or pursue ABOM certification. 
    • If applicable, willing to supervise Advanced Practice Clinician(s) as deemed necessary and appropriate by the practice. Abide by state specific rules and regulations as a collaborative physician. 
    • You ideally bring experience networking and promoting self and the practice through individual and group outreach campaigns. 
    • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
    • You’re dedicated to staying current with the latest developments in primary care and obesity medicine. 
    • You believe in inclusive, compassionate care. 
    • You believe in shared decision making with a patient. You honor the goals a patient has for their health, and you partner with them to help them achieve those goals.  
    • You have high emotional intelligence and know how to make a patient feel at ease – without judgment and without shame. 
    • You’re willing and excited to try new technologies that are both patient and provider oriented. 
    • You are excited to work with a collaborative team of physicians, APC’s, registered dietitians, medical assistants, health coaches, and other staff. 
    • Must have access to high-speed internet and phone lines. 
    • We are unable to sponsor visas currently, so you are authorized to work in the United States. 

Responsibilities:

    • Network Development: 
    • Develop or co-develop and implement targeted g plans to promote the new practice, including digital marketing, community outreach, and traditional networking. 
    • Collaborate with marketing teams to create promotional materials and campaigns that highlight the practice’s unique offerings and advantages. 
    • Establish and nurture relationships with other healthcare providers, including primary care physicians, specialists, and health system networks, to generate patient referrals. 
    • Organize and attend networking events, medical conferences, and community health fairs to increase visibility and create referral opportunities. 
    • Provide educational sessions and presentations to local healthcare professionals about the practice’s services and benefits. 
    • Engage with the local community through health seminars, workshops, and partnerships with community organizations to raise awareness about the practice. 
    • Participate in community health initiatives and collaborate with local organizations to promote wellness and preventive care. 
    • Assist in the development or adaptation and implementation of market specific operational procedures and protocols for the new practice to ensure efficient and effective operations. 
    • Monitor practice performance metrics and patient feedback to identify areas for improvement and growth. 
    • Provide clinical expertise and guidance to ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to medical standards. 
    • Act as a liaison between the practice and external stakeholders, including healthcare organizations and insurance companies. 

    • Practice exceptional medicine within knownwell:
    • Sees adults ages 18+ for primary care, often with a focus on metabolic health, or adults for metabolic health only.  Share a panelwith APC (s). 
    • See pediatric patients ages 12+ for metabolic health only. 
    • Hybrid care delivery, remote and in-person patient care. 
    • Remote care using audio and visual technology to complete patient examinations, evaluation, assessments, diagnoses and treatment plans.   
    • Embodies the knownwell mission and values of patient inclusivity in how you deliver care. 
    • Coordinates with the broader care team to ensure the patient has the support they need. 
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications recommended, but not required.  
    • Documents as necessary to ensure accurate billing, including review of remote patient monitoring data. 
    • Communicates with patients in a timely manner through our portal for questions and concerns that have been pre-screened to necessitate a clinician response. 

    • Ensure patients feel known well:
    • Ensure your patient panel is open to any individual, regardless of their current health status and comorbidities. 
    • Listen to the aspirations of the patient and ensure care is tailored to the patient’s unique health journey. 
    • Provide an environment in which patients feel comfortable and free from judgment. 
    • Offer exceptional encouragement as patients reach their goals. 

    • Coordinate across the collaborative care team:
    • Escalate any concerns to your dedicated site leadership team. 
    • Provide clinical guidance to advance practice clinicians, medical assistants, and nursing teams as assigned. 

    • Stay current with licensure and appropriate re-certifications
