As Sr. Tooling Engineer, you will be part of the team creating high quality tooling for the expansion in capacity of our flagship product, the two burner ethanol cooker and refillable canister. You will be working out of our world-class manufacturing facility, based out of Sanand, Ahmedabad and join a highly qualified quality team who have taken the unique product from conceptulisation upto large scale manufacturing.

Tool Development

    • Responsible for Tooling Development functions, working with the Technical Manager
    • Validate the DFM/Design review points for meeting,Specs, Fit Functions before actual Tool Manufacturing activity
    • Contact point between tool maker and SCM on technical queries, part development in partnership with SQEs
    • Tool and Machine Buyoff as per master schedule and responsible for handover to mass production
    • Keep regular updates on Tool Manufacturing activities and report the important milestones and issues
    • Support the data for Technical analysis on tool and machine specs, requirements for expansion HOD
    • Periodically update the Actual cycle time or SPMs from production records for accurate capacity assumptions
    • Participate in DFM & Design review for new tooling projects.(DFM,DAP )
    • Validate the Machine/Tool specs before ordering the new assets
    • Ensure the CM machine /Accessories specs are matching or can be used or adjusted to run the tools
    • Conduct tool trials and troubleshooting activities at various stages of the project
    • Conduct Buyoff of the tools, machines, equipments without compromising the quality
    • Support NPI,Mass production transfer activities

Tool Maintenance

    • Troubleshooting and creation of tool maintenance structure at CM’s location through training, creation of systems requirements ( MTBF,MTTR, Troubleshooting and performance monitoring matrixes)
    • Validate the PSW,APQP,PPAP, APQP and important launch programs technically
    • Troubleshooting of existing toolings in case of emergency
    • Ensure the tooling spares are available well before emergency or crisis situation.( Bin mgmt)
    • Keep upto date history and records of tooling design or modifications through proper revision approvals
    • Create Basic troubleshooting guidelines for each tools ,fixtures

Minimum requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree of Engineering in mechanical or production engineering or tool and die making from IGTR,GTTC,CIPET,NTTF, Indo Danish.
    • Minimum 5-7 years working experience in the field of Part component development or tooling development.
    • Familiar with Metrology, Measuring techniques, GR&R,MSA, Tolerance stacking, Fits,Limits & Machining processes.
    • Understanding of APQP,PPAP,SPC.
    • Worked with Sheet Metal Stamping and Injection Molding suppliers for part development/component procurement.
    • Well versed with Autocad,Solidworks.
