Position Summary: Korro Bio is seeking a Director, Delivery Sciences within its Platform group to lead the development and evaluation of novel delivery systems for oligonucleotide therapeutics targeting the liver and extrahepatic tissues. This role will be instrumental in advancing the RNA editing platform, OPERA™, by driving delivery strategy, coordinating with external partners, and collaborating across a highly matrixed organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong scientific acumen, demonstrate effective communication, and present results clearly to cross-functional project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and lead all delivery efforts for oligonucleotide conjugates including GalNAc conjugates and other extrahepatic delivery strategies.
- Build capabilities in the areas of delivery chemistries including lipid excipients, endosomal escape enhancers and other areas including nanoparticle-based delivery technologies.
- Actively collaborate with medicinal chemistry and other cross functional teams to support pipeline projects.
- Manage mentor and grow a diverse high-performing scientific team.
- Clear communication of results to different audiences including scientific staff and senior leadership.
- Proactively identify potential obstacles and devise solutions to mitigate risk.
- Foster a culture of of excellence, accountability and innovation within the delivery team.
- Build a network of relevant academic and industry relationships and encourage the external presentation or presentation for the delivery team.
- PhD in a scientific discipline with 8+ years’ experience in delivery chemistry with a focus on oligonucleotides.
- Demonstrated expertise in nucleic acid delivery platforms and technologies.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively across disciplines in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in oligonucleotide or RNA based drug discovery.
- Prior leadership experience in delivery strategy development or platform innovation.
- Please note that will be an onsite position with 50% work in the lab.
