What you’ll do

Implement reliable pipelines to get results and useful information from different data sources by integrating, managing, consolidating and cleansing data. Deal with raw, possibly not validated data that contains human, machine or instrument errors. Ensure that any data is properly received, transformed, stored and made accessible to other users, by applying the proper tests and business rules. Combine, prepare and provide data sets for analytical or operational uses. Have a high sense of data understanding in order to implement code that improves data reliability, efficiency, and quality.

Key responsibilities:

    • Architect and develop scalable and resilient data solutions.
    • Translate business rules to reliable data transformation pipelines and build ETL pipelines and models using large, multidimensional datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities.
    • Create necessary back-end infrastructure for analytics, reporting visualizations and ML flows.
    • Build, maintain and improve the BI reporting code-base, ensuring data integrity and availability according to the needs of the BI team and of the rest of KPLER
    • Build integration and unit tests for all data wrangling scripts, in order to ensure high data quality and consistency
    • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, commercial and business stakeholders to understand strategies, goals, and objectives, and align the analytics roadmap accordingly.
    • Identify data flow inefficiencies and proposes alternative solutions
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, contributing to the team's evolution through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.

Accountabilities:

    • Ownership, quality, integrity  and consistency of aforementioned code base
    • Efficiency of ETLs and availability of data according to needs
    • Engineering best practices (documentation, versioning, etc.) should be followed
    • Adherence to the Teams' KPI's and OKR goals should be pursued

Your experience:

    • Experience with back-end engineering (4+ years) using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modelling
    • Experience in data engineering, business intelligence, and analytics, with expertise in BI tools and technologies such as Looker Tableau, or similar.
    • Experience ingesting data from external APIs
    • Experience working with AWS (using tools such as EKS and ECS) and strong database preferably with Snowflake and Postgres
    • Knowledge of BI Data Architecture
    • Versioning such as Github or Gitlab
    • PHP knowledge is a plus
    • Ability to understand the business logic behind the data-sets, in order to ensure data quality
    • Excellent command of the English language
    • Some familiarity with Big Data technologies and frameworks is desired
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related fields.
