You will be joining our Private Enterprise - Delivery & Data Excellence (DDX) team, who are experts in their fields, specializing in technical accounting, processes, and efficiencies. The Delivery & Data Excellence team works to improve the value and impact of compliance work through standardizing technology and exploring data analytics and new technology.

The Opportunity:

    • We are looking for an Intermediate Business Advisory Accountant to join our Private Enterprise team in Tauranga. You will have the opportunity to utilize new technology and processes to deliver and review accurate and timely enterprise technical services of varying level of complexity to the business.
    • Join our national specialist team, where you will gain exposure to a broad client base and be provided with accelerated learning and development opportunities!

Day to day you will:

    • Formulate solutions to client problems and issues and contribute to building a high-performance team culture.
    • Oversee and undertake the preparation of a wide range of financial requirements of varying complexity, including preparing annual accounts, tax returns and tax compliance.
    • Assist with data gathering and knowledge transfer.
    • Deliver quality technical compliance work and support the development of others within the team in the delivery of this work.

What you'll bring to our team:

    • 2 - 3 years’ experience working within a New Zealand Chartered Accounting environment
    • Undergraduate degree or undertaking tertiary qualifications in relevant subjects (e.g. accounting, finance, or qualified by experience).
    • Ideally holding on to or working towards CAANZ or CPA membership, or membership of a relevant overseas professional body
    • Competent and literate with the following packages:  Microsoft Word, Excel and a computerised accounting system (preferably Xero, XPA, APS or MYOB)
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong organisational and time management skills
    • Ability to deal with multiple tasks concurrently
    • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
    • Professional approach to work and strong client focus
    • A team player that values input and support from the team but can also work autonomously.
