Grow up and thrive for the days destined to you.
Your hands to the tools of the Pākehā to provide physical sustenance,
Your heart to the treasures of your ancestors as a diadem for your brow,
Your soul to your God, to whom all things belong.

The KPMG Kiwa programme is a mentoring initiative for Māori and Pasifika university students. The aim of our mentoring programme is to develop your potential – by building confidence and knowledge while exposing one to corporate spaces.
If you are Māori or Pasifika, currently studying at tertiary level in New Zealand, interested in a career in the corporate sector and looking to gain skills and confidence to get through any recruitment programme - this is for you!
The programme runs through second semester of 2025, where you are matched with a member of the KPMG whānau and attend a range of workshops and networking events. Our programmes are run out of these KPMG offices; Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Hamilton and Tauranga.
For one-on-one mentoring you will be connected with a member of the KPMG whānau and be presented with the opportunity to form new relationships, explore career pathways, develop new skills and build confidence through workshops such as:
- Explore your why and understand how personality can influence behaviours
- Learn about techniques that will help you to set personal and career development goals
- Support to create a standout CV to make sure you are noticed, learn methods to communicate your skills to others (employers) through interview styles and techniques and learn about types of questions you might be asked and how to answer them effectively
- Understand what ‘the Big Four’ actually do and how your interests might align with common divisions in corporate services
- Meet a range of senior staff members and understand their experience of being Māori and Pasifika in the corporate world
- Apply your learnings from the previous workshops and participate in a practical assessment session where you are placed into groups, given a task and must present your findings to a panel of judges
