The opportunity:
- We are looking for a Senior Advisor to support our Financial Crime team
- This role requires a blend of analytical and investigative skills built on compliance/process/control fundamentals and will see you at times being asked to advise on complex and sometimes time sensitive matters.
- You'll be exposed to an exciting variety of engagements across financial crime from both compliance reviews (including audits), to involvement in financial crime transformation programmes (such as designing improvements to operating models).
- As well as getting the chance to collaborate with different teams across our Consulting division and at times the global KPMG network.
- You will have the opportunity to broaden your expertise through a range of interesting projects and with a wide variety of clients.
Day to day you will:
- Utilise your knowledge of the financial crime regulatory environment to support our clients
- Interpret and analyse policies, procedures and controls across the financial crime domains
- Prepare high quality reports and documents used by Management, Boards, and regulators in New Zealand and Overseas
- Monitor new regulatory and industry developments to deliver targeted messages relevant to our clients
- Contribute to financial services proposals to help ensure that the risk and compliance aspects are covered
- Identify and proactively respond to new business opportunities including cross-functional opportunities to provide added value to clients
- Build the reputation of KPMG through the quality of your work, expertise and judgement as well as innovative approaches
- Work as part of a close-knit, high energy team, which thrives on the variety of work
What you'll bring to our team:
- Consulting experience and/or financial services sector experience is preferred
- Anti-money laundering compliance experience is essential (preferably from New Zealand), knowledge of other areas of financial crime (i.e. sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, fraud prevention and detection, CRS/FACTA) would be helpful.
- An analytical mindset, attention to detail and an ability to challenge data, information and explanations provided
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work at pace whilst delivering pragmatic and high quality outcomes
- Strong relationship building skills with clients and with the KPMG team
- Positive and flexible attitude and happy to embrace new challenges and opportunities
