Our Deal Strategy team help our clients to realise value and achieve strategic objectives through quantified and well-informed planning to execute results. This includes commercial due diligence, strategy and market entry assessment, synergies evaluation, and integration & separation advice. We take a data-led approach to create value for businesses through an end-to-end financial & operational assessment – helping to identify and deliver implementable initiatives to improve EBITDA and cash flow.
The opportunity:
- We are seeking a motivated and talented Analyst or Senior Analyst to join our Deal Strategy team. In this role, you will work closely with Managers and senior team members, providing essential support on client engagements and strategic advisory services focused on value creation, integration, and separation. You will assist in helping Managers and Partners achieve business objectives and drive growth and profitability through detailed analysis and hands-on project involvement.
- We are looking for candidates with 2 to 4 years of experience in a transactions, corporate finance, commercial analysis, or business transformation environment, ideally from a consulting or corporate background. The ideal candidate will bring analytical, commercial, and operational skills to a deal environment and have a passion for developing their expertise in this field.
- We are looking for a team player with a proactive approach who is inquisitive and enthusiastic in developing your skills and knowledge in Deal Strategy across a variety of industries. Day to day you will:
- Assist in client engagements and support project teams in the delivery of value creation, integration, and separation advisory services.
- Help build and maintain strong client relationships by providing reliable and insightful support to Managers and Partners.
- Assist in the preparation of strategic assessments, market trends analysis, and identification of growth and improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to identifying value creation opportunities aligned with client business objectives to increase revenue, reduce costs, and optimise operations.
- Support market evaluations, including assessing market size, growth, segmentation, and overall attractiveness, and conducting customer/expert interviews to analyse market players' strengths and weaknesses.
- Provide assistance in broader deal strategy and market entry/growth advise, including hypothesis development.
- Aid in the development of business models, including market forecasts, competitor share forecasts, synergy evaluations, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Engage in client interactions and manage data flows for various projects.
- Perform research and commercial & financial analyses, identifying potential red flags and providing actionable insights.
- Assist in pre-deal strategic reviews and options assessments.
- Support pre- and post-deal separation and integration planning and implementation.
- Conduct post-deal monitoring to support the strategic case of the deal.
What you'll bring to the team:
- Around 2-4 years of experience in a transaction, commercial analysis, or business transformation environment from a consulting firm or major corporate.
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in financial modelling and/or a solid accounting/finance background is ideal.
- Familiarity with basic data analytics tools such as Power BI, Power Query, data cubes, Alteryx is advantageous.
- Interest in developing data analytics skills and a willingness to learn new tools.
- Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
- Comprehensive business acumen, with an understanding of the M&A environment.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage with a variety of clients.
- A collaborative, positive, and team-focused attitude.
- A proactive approach and the ability to adapt in a constantly changing and rapidly growing business environment.
- High aptitude for learning.
