Digital Consulting combines technology consulting with deep technical experience across a range of technology, areas and services. Our advisors combine extensive knowledge of data and analytics, cyber security, software development, IT strategy and operating models to provide clients with a service that adds recognised value.

The opportunity:

    • Our Digital Consulting team has an opportunity available at a Manager/Senior Manager level. Please note that KPMG offers a Senior Manager level between Manager and Associate Director level.
    • This role will support our core technology consulting service offerings, including:
    • M&A – IT Due Diligence and Integration/Separation: Undertaking IT due diligence from buy or sell side and supporting the technology elements of integration and separation planning.
    • IT Strategy & Operating Model: Helping clients develop and implement IT and Digital Strategies, supporting roadmaps and operating models to support them, as well as maturity assessments and other supporting activity.
    • IT Sourcing and Procurement: Supporting clients from requirements development, through market engagement and evaluation to due diligence and contracting.
    • This role is focused on supporting and building our existing Technology Deals (M&A, I&S) capability as a result of increased demand, but we are looking for candidates with the ability to work across broader technology consulting offerings.

Day to day you will:

    • Lead teams to deliver one or more of our core service offerings.
    • Support the development and delivery of the Digital Consulting strategy – in particular elements of Technology Advisory and Technology Deals.
    • Be an active and engaged member of the Technology Advisory team – building relationships within Digital Consulting and across KPMG.
    • Provide guidance and support to more junior team members – both technical and non-technical.
    • Apply your existing technical skills and experience to new challenges and experiences.
    • Conduct research and leverage global tools, frameworks and resources to deliver customer outcomes.
    • Take a hands-on approach to developing project artefacts, running workshops or conducting interviews.
    • Write reports and prepare client presentations of a high quality, providing insights with a customer focus.
    • Work with customers to understand, refine and document requirements – both as functional/non-functional and as user stories.
    • Manage delivery of technology projects/implementations, working with a mixture of onshore and offshore resources using both waterfall and Agile methodologies.
    • Manage delivery of project budget, scope and timing.
    • Identify and manage implementation risks and issues as well as resolve conflict and address challenges in an implementation context.
    • Build the reputation of KPMG through the quality of your work, expertise and judgement as well as innovative approaches.
    • Be comfortable working at pace with a high attention to detail across multiple projects at once.

What you'll bring to our team:

    • Technology Consulting experience, NZ Big Four or equivalent is preferred. We expect the candidate to be able to scope and run engagements (with appropriate oversight and support).
    • Experience and interest in Technology Deals/M&A, including IT Due Diligence and ideally IT Integration/Separation planning (or equivalent).
    • Expertise in developing Digital Strategies as well as experience in designing and implementing IT/Digital operating models to support digital initiatives.
    • Previous delivery management experience gained in an implementation or consulting role.
    • Experience in facilitation and running workshops and interviews.
    • A relevant tertiary qualification in a technology or business field.
    • Experience developing and costing projects and implementation approaches.
    • Relevant Technology certifications (e.g. TOGAF, ITIL) are preferred.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to shape and develop client deliverables to a high standard.
    • A positive and flexible attitude and an enthusiasm to embrace new challenges and growth opportunities to gain experience.
