About the role
We’re looking for a dynamic Talent Partner to join our growing Tokyo team, supporting the expansion of Kraken across the JAPAC region during an exciting phase of growth.
In this role, you’ll take full ownership of the hiring journey - from partnering with hiring managers to shape role requirements, to sourcing exceptional talent, managing interviews, and guiding candidates through to offer and onboarding. You’ll work across a variety of functions including delivery, tech, product, commercial, and operations, helping us build diverse, high-performing teams across the region.
You’ll be a trusted advisor to the business, combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution. Beyond filling roles, you'll play a key part in enhancing our employer brand, improving processes, and creating a standout candidate experience at every stage.
You’ll be joining a collaborative, forward-thinking talent team that’s passionate about finding great people and raising the bar as we grow. If you're someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, evolving environment and is excited by the challenge of scaling teams in new markets - we’d love to hear from you!
What you'll do
- Partnering closely with hiring managers and stakeholders to deeply understand team goals, role requirements, and build effective hiring strategies across tech, product, commercial, and operations functions.
- Managing the full recruitment lifecycle, including creating job descriptions, sourcing candidates, screening, interviewing, and facilitating feedback and decision-making.
- Proactively sourcing and engaging candidates through a range of channels such as LinkedIn, BizReach, talent communities, referrals, and events to build a strong, diverse pipeline.
- Leading candidate outreach and communication, providing an exceptional experience and authentically representing our brand and culture throughout every interaction.
- Using data and market insights to guide recruitment strategies, improve processes, and anticipate hiring needs.
- Collaborating with the wider talent team to refine recruitment tools, improve workflows, and elevate the candidate experience.
- Driving employer branding initiatives by sharing market intelligence and supporting activities to boost our visibility in key talent communities.
- Championing DEI efforts by embedding inclusive practices into every stage of the recruitment process.
- Working closely with global talent partners to share knowledge, align strategies, and scale hiring operations efficiently.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to the business, providing guidance on market trends, candidate availability, and competitive positioning in the JAPAC talent landscape.
What you'll have
- Proven experience managing the full recruitment lifecycle within a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strong skills in candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and closing across multiple channels including LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, and talent communities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both active and passive candidates and build strong relationships with hiring managers.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to partner effectively across teams - recruiters, hiring managers, and global colleagues.
- Comfort working with recruitment data and metrics to track progress, inform decisions, and continuously improve hiring outcomes.
- A proactive, curious, and solutions-oriented approach - always seeking innovative ways to attract and hire top talent.
- Genuine passion for delivering an exceptional candidate experience, supporting employer branding, and driving inclusive hiring practices.
- Familiarity with recruitment tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, BizReach, Gem, or other ATS/CRM platforms.
- Native level in Japanese, fluency in English.
