If our focus is to build a more scalable platform, are we prepared to prioritise self-serve capabilities and sacrifice the number of new clients we onboard in the near term, and/or look for clients that are potentially easier to onboard? For example, clients within markets in which we already operate.
Our residential flexibility product, Smartflex, is the market leading virtual power plant for energy retailers globally. Today we optimise and control over 300,000 electric vehicles, home batteries and smart heating devices, for the benefit of our customers.
What you'll do
- Work with technology, sales and client onboarding teams to grow the business to one million devices by 2027 across Europe, Asia Pacific and North America
- Define the product strategy and associated delivery roadmap to realise our vision of low carbon heating, mobility and household energy supply
- Act as a thought leader in residential flex tech, help solve business problems for our retail customers in a way that we can repeat across the globe; allowing us to accelerate the energy transition
- Develop a recognised centre of excellence for physical and financial optimisation of large device portfolios that our customers value
- Make our product a great consumer experience!
- Lead the product strategy by working with customers, the wider industry and our delivery teams to validate and extend the product roadmap
- Develop and lead a team of product managers who are responsible for delivery of the product roadmap
- Be a role model, creating a positive product culture, including developing processes/ systems for improved product management.
- Work closely with development teams globally, establishing ways of working to ensure global collaboration
- Take ownership of any major problems arising and ensure the teams are set-up to solve them in a timely manner
- Create high levels of communication between the Kraken development team and stakeholders, working closely with senior leadership on both sides to properly understand challenges in order to prioritise work.
- Define and track key product metrics, analyse performance data, and derive actionable insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Be a facilitator, coach, impediment remover and evangelist for product management across the wider organisation. Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies.
- Conduct market research, gather client and end customer insights, and analyse data to identify new opportunities and enhance existing products.
What you'll need
- To demonstrate credibility, knowledge of the European or North American electricity markets is important. Any experience of regulated markets or distribution-retailers would be very valuable.
- Proven experience in a product leadership role within a product-led company. A track record of successfully developing and launching innovative, user-centred products.
- Strong strategic thinking, have a growth mindset and vision-setting abilities, with the capability to align product strategy with business goals and market dynamics.
- Deep understanding of Product Management methodologies, agile development practices and user-centred design principles.
- To be able to work in an ambiguous, dynamic environment, and be comfortable with uncertainty and constant change. Experience in a fast-paced start-up or scale-up would be a plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and influence decision-making at all levels of the organisation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to interact with people with varying levels of technical knowledge. Working proficiency in European languages is a plus.
This role can be based working-from-home with travel on a regular basis to our offices or other locations as required.
