Purpose
As Kueski’s Design Head, you’ll be responsible for changing the way people look at FinTech by helping us build products that people love, work well, and scale. Not only will you develop Kueski’s customer experience vision and principles, you’ll serve as a pillar of inspiration for innovation and design thinking across the company. You’ll also make direct contributions to achieve the company’s long-term strategy and near-term objectives through your leadership and mentoring of a high-performing design team.
Main objectives for this position:
- Influence and collaborate with company leadership to create a standard of design excellence across our product ecosystem
- Inspire the organization to innovate by understanding and solving customer opportunities and problems
- Translate company vision and strategy into best practices and actionable goals; ensure the design team has the necessary tools, skills, and talent to be successful
Key Responsibilities
- Co-create Kueski’s product strategy and unique means of delivering customer value; build the customer discovery, onboarding, and engagement experiences
- Develop, articulate, and pursue a long-term vision for the Design function, proactively anticipating future opportunities and challenges
- Champion the adoption of strong and consistent design practices, collaborating with leaders from Product, Engineering, Data, Risk & Fraud, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Operations
- Establish thoughtful and disciplined design practices and tools; improve user research processes and ensure data, metrics, and trend analyses provide information critical to customer-centric decision making
- Hire, lead, and mentor a team of designers who can excel at creating customer-focused, delightful, and intuitive design experiences for customers across our product ecosystem
- Proactively address competing priorities and resolve conflicts between teams or departments
- Serve as a role model in representing Kueski’s brand, mission, and values while fostering a culture of excellence across the team, ensuring velocity without sacrificing craft
- Lead transformative change and serve as a living example of the desired culture of the company; help peers in other departments become successful so that company is ultimately successful
Position Requirements
- 10+ years of leading impactful design projects
- Experience demonstrating leadership at both product and company level
- An ability to make decisions quickly while navigating the needs of multiple stakeholders
- Experience hiring, managing, and developing designer in a software organization
- Skilled at communicating ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience in working at a fast-paced technology company
- Familiarity with with web and mobile technologies; fintech experience preferred but not required
- Fluent in Spanish and English
