The Role
Purpose of the role
As Laminar Projects’ Accounts Receivables Specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in managing accounts receivables, ensuring timely collections, supporting billing, and contributing to financial operations that keep our business moving forward. This position is vital in maintaining the financial stability and driving our company’s success by accurately managing invoicing, monitoring payments, and resolving any billing discrepancies.

Despite being a small and recent team in the organisation, the Finance team doesn’t shy away from creating a massive and positive business impact.
While our priority is financial stability and being fully compliant in the countries we operate, we always push for innovative ways of influencing top-level decision-making and funding our growth.

Your top 6 responsibilities
1. Accounts Receivable Management: Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up with clients/customers to collect outstanding payments promptly, reducing the number of overdue accounts and minimizing bad debt risks.
2. Invoicing Process Support: prepare expense reports to help engagement leads on the invoicing process, while supporting further inquiries about billing discrepancies and disputes.
3. Financial Reporting Support: Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to accounts receivable, including aging reports, cash flow projections, and revenue forecasts. Provide insights and analysis to support decision-making.
4. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounts receivable processes and improve efficiency. Implement best practices to optimize billing and collections procedures, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the finance department and boost financial stability.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as consulting and other business service teams to ensure alignment on billing and collections processes and address any issues or concerns that may arise.
6. Develop everyone: Maximise the development of your team personally and professionally and educate our clients to improve as well
Your Capabilities
You will be a detail-oriented accounts receivable prodigy, adept at managing invoices and collections,while carrying strong numerical skills, communication abilities, and a customer service mindset that are essential for success in this role.
As a candidate, you should have:
Must-Have (The fundamentals)
- Mastery: 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Accounts Receivable, Collections, or related finance roles. Solid Excel skills (e.g., lookups, pivots, reconciliations).
- Communication: Clear, structured communicator - both written and verbal - with a strong command of professional English, especially in client-facing situations.
- Proactivity & Ownership: A relentless, follow-through mindset when chasing payments and managing relationships with client accounting/treasury teams.
- People Skills: A collaborative, kind, and solutions-oriented approach to working with clients and internal teams.
- Impact: A proven ability to go beyond the task list - improving processes, cleaning up ledgers, or reducing DSO (Days Sales Outstanding).
Nice to Have (If you don’t have it now you will after joining)
- Tech Savvy: Exposure to or interest in data management tools like Power BI or AR dashboards.
- Financial Systems: Familiarity with Xero, QuickBooks, or similar cloud-based accounting systems.
- Business Acumen: Ability to connect AR work with broader cash flow health and client behavior patterns.
- Growth Potential: An interest in growing into a trusted operational partner, not just a task executor.
