The Occupational Therapist will provide specialized services to students, ensuring their participation and performance within the educational environment. This role includes conducting evaluations, developing intervention plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support student needs. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.

Qualifications - Education

    • Bachelor’s degree and certification as a registered occupational therapist.

Qualifications - Experience

    • Preferred experience working with severely physically disabled students.

Qualifications - Skills/Knowledge

    • Ability to physically care for severely disabled students.
    • Effective collaboration with other disciplines for student program planning.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in synthesizing evaluation results into comprehensive reports.
    • Understanding and knowledge of the IET and evaluation processes.

Sample Job Responsibilities

    • Provide occupational therapy services to assigned students.
    • Maintain attendance and evaluation records.
    • Communicate with parents/caregivers about student progress.
    • Develop and implement individualized educational programs in compliance with state and federal laws.
    • Establish and maintain a structured therapy classroom for student safety.
    • Attend IEP, staff, and in-service meetings.
    • Adapt and modify environments using assistive technology and sensory diets.
    • Complete Medicaid billing activities.
$46,942 - $95,000 a year
