In the pursuit of our mission, we are hiring a Multilingual Trauma Social Worker to work with the Special Populations team. This individual will be focused on providing services to multilingual students and their families. In particular, they will focus on providing extensive trauma support services to these individuals and groups, ensuring all students are set up for success both in and out of school.

Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Social Work (or related field)
    • Previous experience working with multilingual students and families experiencing trauma
    • Commitment to Lansing School District’s mission and vision

Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s degree with concentration in social work
    • School Social Worker certification (SSW 310 form) & Social Worker license
    • 5+ years of experience working with children, their families, and their school support systems

Job Responsibilities

    • Maintain a caseload of at-risk learners to provide support and behavioral interventions leading to academic & personal success
    • Conduct sessions with multilingual students and families who have or are experiencing trauma who have problems which impede their ability to be successful (i.e. anger management, coping skills, etc.)
    • Share knowledge of community resources with individual students and families to increase their success at school and beyond
    • Develop, monitor progress towards, and communicate student goals and growth plans 
    • Other tasks as needed in order to best serve Lansing students
$33.43 - $42.17 an hour
This role works 40 hours a week.
