In pursuit of this mission, we are hiring a Behavior Intervention Specialist for Everett High School. Behavior Intervention Specialists provide support related to behavior for identified students. They collaborate with other interventionists in the building to ensure all students are fully supported on their path to graduation and beyond.

Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree (or previously held an LSEA hourly position)
    • Strong data analysis skills related to student outcomes and attendance
    • Experience building relationships with racially diverse, economically diverse, and linguistically diverse students
    • Previous experience developing and implementing behavior programs in a school setting
    • Commitment to the Lansing School District mission and vision

Preferred Qualifications

    • Previous teaching, coaching, and/or student support experience in an urban school setting
    • Proficient in Excel, Google Sheets, and Synergy (among other systems)
    • Proficient in languages beyond English (in order to potentially communicate with students and parents who speak languages such as Spanish, Hindi, or Arabic)

Sample Job Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement tiered behavior support systems in collaboration with school administrators
    • Build positive relationships with students
    • Collaborate with teachers and administrators for student support related to academics
    • Provide student feedback and track student data
    • Coordinate services and resources for students and families both in and out of the school building
    • Other tasks as assigned by the building administrators
$25.93 - $33.12 an hour
This role is placed in Column DD on the LSEA Hourly Schedule. This role will work approximately eight hours a day, five days a week for the entirety of the school year (approximately 189 days).
