In pursuit of this mission, we are hiring a 1st/2nd/3rd grade Teacher for Wexford Montessori Academy. This individual will ensure our 1st/2nd/3rd grade students receive world-class instruction in all content areas. Our teachers must also work to build safe, nurturing classrooms where students can be themselves and work collaboratively towards common learning goals. Teachers will work alongside other teachers, parents, and students to ensure they are providing the best education experience to all students.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in elementary education or related field
- Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values
- Commitment to be trained in and utilize Montessori pedagogy and curriculum
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate with elementary endorsement (will be required to enroll in program if don't currently possess)
- Previous successful elementary teaching experience in urban setting
- Multiage teaching experience
- Montessori training and experience in any grade band
Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrate passion for and expertise of elementary content areas in a multiage setting
- Provide world-class instruction in literacy, math, and other content areas to elementary students using the Montessori curriculum
- Maintain a Montessori environment
- Use data to guide and effectively differentiate instruction
- Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions
- Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment
- Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission
