Mentor students attending a weekend credit recovery program at the Ebersole Center (located in Wayland, MI) to increase academic achievement and graduation rates; Assist students in one-on-one or small group settings as they work to gain knowledge through the program; Willingness to supervise the overnight program at the Ebersole Center (REQUIRED); Work collaboratively with Ebersole staff to develop innovative academic learning opportunities; Facilitate and encourage a learning environment that fosters successful social and academic experiences for students participating in the academic program; and Other duties as assigned by the Ebersole Director.

This position is for four weekends: October 24-26, 2025; December 5-7, 2025; February 20-22, 2026; and April 17-19, 2026. Applicants that are available all four weekends will be given preference.

Qualifications

    • Demonstrated ability to work with high school age students from a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds, as well as different academic proficiency levels
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and other staff members;
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively use technology for teaching, communication, and data analysis;
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; and
    • Preference will be given to candidates with experience (or willingness to be trained) with the Edgenuity online learning platform.

Job Responsibilities

    • Facilitate and encourage a learning environment that fosters successful social and academic experiences for students participating in the academic program
    • Other duties as assigned by the Ebersole Director.

Environment & Physical Demands

    • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear
    • Standing and walking for long periods of time
    • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
    • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
    • Regularly required to use close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
$500 - $500 one-time
$500.00 ($250.00 per evening) is the weekend rate, no mileage as a bus is provided.
