In pursuit of this mission, we are hiring an Associate Teacher for Universal Preschool at Gardner. This individual will help ensure the safety and success of students in the Universal Preschool program. Associate Teachers build relationships with students they work with, support teachers in ensuring that students are engaged and supported during lessons, and interact with parents and families. They are also able to develop as a teacher on their path towards operating their own classroom in the future. This role is for the 2024-25 school year.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in early childhood education or related field
- Valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or an existing 120 Training-Hour approval by MDE (or willing to pursue one immediately)
- Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with Universal Preschool or GSRP students in an urban setting
Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrate passion for working with and empathy of Universal Preschool and GSRP students
- Effectively prioritize tasks as assigned by teachers and school leaders
- Ensure safety of students in classroom and comply with Universal Preschool and GSRP requirements
- Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions
- Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment
- Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission
$16.86 - $21.48 an hour
This role traditionally works a normal 35 hour per week schedule during the school year.
