As we move on to new projects, the studio that brought you Baldur’s Gate 3 & Divinity: Original Sin 2 is looking for an Animation Director to join the team and help us in crafting the high caliber games our fans have come to expect.
Responsibilities
- Craft a clear, understandable vision and plan for our game animation style and goals; and empower your leads, seniors, and adjacent teams to rally around that vision.
- Collaborate and partner with other directors to set the standards, drive fidelity and quality for all aspects of our games’ animation content
- Lead a team of highly skilled animators to deliver hi-fidelity animation; defining and setting the animation standard along each stage.
- Mentor, develop, and build the skills of your team while ensuring team cohesion and an atmosphere of creativity
- Coordinate with technical animation and coding teams to improve and develop the animation pipeline, tool sets, and functionality
- Partner with production and leadership to balance creative goals with production realities while delivering on player experience
- Provide regular actionable creative and directional feedback to your team to maintain and push quality
Requirements
- Extensive experience in game animation leadership at the director, lead, or principal level; having shipped at least one AAA title
- Deep understanding and passion for animation and the ability to translate it into constructive and insightful feedback
- In-depth understanding of gameplay and cinematic animation
- Strong knowledge of Animation software, pipelines, and game development processes
- Experience leading teams, people management, and development
- Excellent communication and collaborative problem-solving skills

- Mocap direction experience
- Combat design knowledge
- RPG experience
- Rigging and technical animation knowledge
