Last Energy seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Writer to develop, review, and update documentation about Last Energy’s PWR-20, a 20MW pressurized water Nuclear Reactor. Applicants do not need nuclear experience if they have sufficient background in similar-sized industrial facilities for the chemical, oil & gas, or manufacturing sectors. Clear communication and simple points will be emphasized over layers of complex technical arguments.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and update technical publications, including operation and maintenance manuals, safety guidelines, procedures, and system descriptions
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency of technical content within the publications
- Translate complex technical information into clear and user-friendly language, ensuring that the target audience can easily understand and apply the information
- Liaise with cross-functional teams, including safety, engineering, and regulatory compliance, to gather relevant data and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to understand the technical aspects of our nuclear reactors and incorporate the latest industry best practices into the documentation
- Follow established style guides and document templates, ensuring consistency and adherence to Last Energy's brand guidelines.
- Review, edit, and proofread technical documents for grammar, clarity, and adherence to company standards
- Collaborate with graphic designers and illustrators to create visual aids and diagrams that enhance understanding and usability of the technical publications
- Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements related to nuclear reactors, ensuring that the documentation reflects the latest information
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, Nuclear Science, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred
- 6+ years of experience as a technical writer, preferably in the nuclear energy or related industry
- Proven experience developing technical publications, such as operation and maintenance manuals, safety guidelines, or system descriptions
- Strong understanding of nuclear reactor technology and related engineering principles
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate and high-quality documentation
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
