Last Energy UK seeks a Safety Case Author to directly contribute to the licensing of a nuclear power plant in the UK.
The Safety Case Author will work collaboratively and creatively with the entire engineering team and report to the Regulatory Lead.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Author, review and/or edit safety case and technical documents to support regulatory submissions
- Supporting the development of the Claims, Arguments and Evidence (CAE) structure for the nuclear safety case
- Supporting the development of the content of the nuclear safety case including the required document set
- Authoring key nuclear safety case documents for submission to the regulator
- Support the development of the processes and records associated with Safety Case assessments and related recommendations and reports
- Engage stakeholders in technical discussions to support safety case development and assessment
- Perform regular reviews of P&IDs, Drawings, PFDs, and Electrical One-Lines, SOPs, and related documentation, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner, and implementing corrective actions to improve the execution/review process
- Prepare compliance documentation for international regulatory bodies
- Support the Regulatory Lead in engagements and interactions with Regulators
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience engineering design and development processes
- Experience in nuclear power
- Experience interfacing with the UK ONR and EA
- Engineering Degree or related field
- Experience in writing and presenting safety related technical documentation including hazard analysis, safety analysis, O&M Manuals, Engineering Procedures, etc.
- Reliability Analysis Experience Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and electrical diagrams Ability to build relationships across multiple disciplines
